SIA Licence training courses revised for 2015

SIA Licence – New Training Courses Approved From January 2015

SIA Licence - HG Security & Property Protection Limited holds SIA Approved Contractor Status for Security Guarding

HG Security & Property Protection Limited holds SIA Approved Contractor Status for Security Guarding

From 1 January 2015, updated Security Industry Authority courses and qualifications will be introduced for new SIA licence applicants.

The new SIA Licence courses will ensure that training content remains relevant.  Content will be up to date, without over burdening the individual or the industry.  The courses will allow greater flexibility and online learning.

The SIA are hoping to publish specifications for the new courses in December 2014.  The courses are likely to include the following:

Door Supervision Course

Door Supervision training will contain more content in managing queues and crowds and dealing with vulnerable people.  There will also be an expansion of the physical intervention content.  Also there will be more focus on practical delivery of searching and conflict management content.

Security Guarding Course

The Security Guarding course will contain more content on patrolling and maintaining contact.  Also how to deal with commonly encountered incidents.  There will also be a requirement for practical delivery of searching and conflict management.  Also the inclusion of an awareness of initiatives to fight crime.

Close Protection Course

Updates to the Close Protection specification now includes more content on journey management and risk and threat assessment.  There is also new content around incident management.

The qualification awarding bodies have developed new training courses to meet the updated specifications, and they are now working with training providers to ensure standard training packages will be ready for January 2015.
