CCTV Cameras -v- Manned Guarding Property Protection

Property Protection – Does CCTV offer the best solution?

CCTV is now an omnipresent means of property protection.  From the home CCTV cameras that record very low resolution, jerky images, up to the high tech street CCTV systems.  Cameras certainly play their part in crime fighting.  Thus giving valuable evidence from the scene of a crime that may or may not help track down the perpetrators.  Do CCTV cameras give the best protection to your property?

Any CCTV camera or alarm system is only as good as the response time of the security company who monitor it.  Once alerted, it could take as long as an hour to get a security officer to your property.  Chances are that the crime has been committed and the culprits long gone.  With hardly any chance of being caught if they mask their identity.  As a deterrent then, CCTV alone is not 100% effective.  Although it is an excellent back up tool to having an on site presence.  A patrolling security guard on site will be able to respond much more quickly to a situation.  With a static guard you will stand a better chance of preventing access in the first place, let alone preventing any crime being committed.

How much do I value my property?

It all comes down to money – which method of property protection is going to be the best value for you?  Best value doesn’t mean cheapest, you need a service that is effective and will protect your valuable property.  If you have a run-down property in the middle of nowhere, with nothing of value in it, you might think a camera will be sufficient.  Will that stop squatters or travellers from occupying your property?  Probably not!  Although the new laws on residential properties have made it easier to get these people out.  However, if your property is classed as non-residential, you will have a fight on your hands.  Having a uniformed patrolling presence there would prevent them gaining access in the first place.  The question you have to ask is:

‘How much do I value my property?  How much will it cost to put things right if I have a break-in?’

Best value does not mean cheapest!

Residential property protection by HG Security

Low cost property protection from HG Security

Of course, you could always adopt the ‘belt and braces’ approach by having both CCTV and a static security guard.  This way the cameras are keeping a watchful eye on all areas, with a security guard on site to respond immediately.  That is, if they haven’t already seen the intruders.  This is a property protection method more and more of our customers are opting for.

You may only require a lower level of security for your property.  Or your budget may not stretch to paying for a patrolling static security guard.  Why not consider our resident security guard option below:

At HG Security we do have an effective cheaper option, from £99.00 +VAT per day

In today’s economic climate many of our corporate clients have repeatedly opted for our unique lower-key level of property protection.  HG Security was formed in 1992 when we noticed a gap in the market through our own personal experience.  One of our qualified SIA Licensed security guards will occupy your vacant property by utilising self contained mobile accommodation outside of your property.  This eliminates the need for live in security guards and the costs associated with occupation of a vacant property.
